Taylor Rose MW has been appointed to act on behalf of Alice Chambers, 36, who was unlawfully arrested by the Lincolnshire Police on Saturday, 6 May 2023.
Ms Chambers was standing near a group of protestors at The Mall, London, and the route for King Charles’ Coronation journey when she was handcuffed and detained by police officers. Although Ms Chambers repeatedly explained to the police that she had no affiliation with the group, she was nevertheless arrested and subsequently detained by the Metropolitan Police for 13 hours.
Jade Brown, Solicitor representing Ms Chambers on behalf of Taylor Rose MW, said: “Ms Chambers has been traumatised by the incident and has lodged a formal complaint. We await investigation reports from Lincolnshire Police and the Metropolitan Police Service to explain how and why this happened.”
