I joined MW Solicitors in 2017, having previously worked in a London firm of Solicitors.  I deal mainly with parents whose children might be taken in to foster care and where Social Services are taking them to court or have said they need to bring a Solicitor to a meeting.

I pride myself on helping clients through an extremely difficult time and going that extra mile to make them feel at ease with the procedure and answer any questions they may have.

My expertise are in the following areas:

  • Care Proceedings
  • Public Law Outline (PLO) / MBA meetings with Social Services (if you have had a letter from your Social Worker)
  • Special Guardianship Orders (for grandparents, foster carers, family members or friends of the family)
  • Residence / Contact disputes
  • Domestic Abuse and emergency injunctions

I undertake work in all areas of East Sussex, Brighton & Hove and some West Sussex, including Eastbourne, Hastings, Brighton and Worthing.

Recent Successes

  • I recently acted for a Grandmother on an application for a Special Guardianship Order for her Grandson. This application was opposed by one of the parents and we were successful in obtaining the Order after a 3 day final hearing.

  • I recently acted for a father in care proceedings and was successful in obtaining the father a Child Arrangements Order for Residence of his son which was a well deserved outcome for the client.
  • I recently acted for a mother of 3 within care proceedings, who was at risk of having 2 of her children placed for adoption. Through months of hard work on both myself and my clients part, we are able to secure Supervision Orders in place of adoption. This was a fantastic result for all, and one of my proudest moments to date.

  • I acted for a mother of 4 children who was the victim of severe domestic abuse at the hands of her husband. The court was satisfied that it would cause the children great emotional harm, along with being at risk of extreme physical violence, should they be made to have contact with their father, and made no order for direct or indirect contact. This enabled the family to move on with their lives and was a brilliant result.  I was able to secure a court order for the removal of the child out of the Jurisdiction to Russia with his mother, following a lengthy battle with the father, who was a perpetrator of domestic abuse.

Work in the Community and Pro Bono Work

  • I work very closely with the local Citizen’s Advice Bureau and provide a free (pro bono) 30 minute advice session for clients with children related issues to give them their options and see if they are entitled to legal aid for representation.

  • I recently organised the local legal bake sale for our Eastbourne office to raise money for legal advice charities.

  • I attend the London, Brighton and Eastbourne legal walks to raise money for charity on a yearly basis.
