I am a Solicitor specialising in Extradition and Criminal Law. I am hugely passionate about protecting and upholding people’s human rights and ensuring that my client’s interests are protected. No stone is left unturned in preparing my client’s defence and ensuring that my client’s are properly represented.

I have experience in complex and high profile extradition cases dealing with a full spectrum of issues focusing particularly on Human Rights arguments in cases both in the Magistrates Court and at the High Court at the Royal Courts of Justice.

I have experience in both Part 1 Extradition Requests and Part 2 Requests and was recently involved in the first ever litigated extradition request from Nigeria.

I have also undertaken work on a variety of criminal cases ranging from simple motoring offences to more complex cases involving drugs, violent crimes, serious sexual offence cases, people trafficking and complex fraud cases. I am also currently undergoing my Police Station Accreditation which will enable me to represent clients at the Police Station.

The challenges that my job presents and the fact that every client’s case is different is one of the many reasons why I love what I do. Extradition/Criminal proceedings are life-changing and this is something that is fully understood by myself and the rest of the team here at MW solicitors.

What My Clients Say About Me

“I’m more than happy with services provided on my case and will never forget that. I will recommend with sincerity and trust. Thank you, Laura Hayward” - Mr B. (March 2019 via Trust Pilot)
“Laura Haywood and Moira Macfarlane represented myself and my partner recently. We both walked away smiling they were awesome and talked us through each stage of the process. Highly recommend. Exceptional representation” - Ms D (March 2019 via Trust Pilot)
“I just wanted to say how impressed I have been with Laura Hayward's work.  In all cases where I have worked with her she is extremely efficient and her work is of a very high standard even when under considerable time pressure” - Catherine Brown, Barrister, Furnival Chambers (February 2017)

“We had quite a difficult day at Court this week and I was so impressed with the way that Laura dealt with it. She was incredibly calm and patient and was the only person who could get the client to do anything! It would have been basically impossible to deal with the case had she not been there, not only because of how she was at Court but also because of the relationship she has built up with the client.  The District Judge also expressly commented on how well prepared the case was and he was very impressed with how much work had gone into the case. I have also been really impressed with how efficient she has been in preparing the case and getting things done.” - Florence Iveson, Barrister, 36 Bedford Row Chambers (June 2017)
