I qualified as a solicitor in 2004, having trained at Howrey Simon Arnold and White in the City predominately doing international litigation. As part of my training, I had a secondment in private client work and I have never looked back. I joined the private client team at McMillan Williams in January 2011 and cover the London Bridge and Herne Hill office.

Areas of expertise

  • Will writing
  • Tax planning, including inheritance tax mitigation, capital gains tax and lifetime gifts
  • The administration of estates
  • Declarations of trust
  • Administration of trusts
  • Personal injury trusts
  • Preparing lasting powers of attorney to safeguard your financial affairs and personal welfare if you ever lack the capacity to make decisions about these yourself
  • Deputyship applications
  • The validity of a will
  • Your rights and entitlement as a beneficiary of either an estate or a trust

I have a great deal of experience in private client work and pride myself on being able to offer clear and concise advice to clients in often difficult and emotional circumstances. I have experience in dealing with the resealing of foreign grants and advising executors on declaring inheritance tax liability. I also act as a deputy and advise many deputies on their duties and responsibilities and help deal with any disputes that may arise.

What My Clients Say About Me

"I'd like to thank the solicitor for guiding me through the process of writing the will, explaining all aspects of the documentation/processes and giving me ample time to get comfortable with the final document." - YS (May 2019)
