I have over 25 years of experience in commercial litigation and insolvency disputes. I have advised on and litigated cases which involve, commercial contract disputes including set off disputes, disputes involving legal charges, guarantee disputes, equitable charges and charging orders resulting in orders for sale. I have extensive experience relating to disputes involving directors, shareholders and fall outs within companies. I am often instructed on cross border litigation involving complex fraud, recovery of assets involving all types of technical enforcement processes along with defending and securing security for costs or strike out applications on major litigation cases. I have substantial experience in dealing with contentious fraud matters also involving injunctions pertaining to the dissipation of assets.
I have a particular specialism in contentious insolvency work. Having previously worked for a big four accountancy firm, I have the hands-on experience and know the need for giving prompt advice taking into consideration the commercial aspects of a case including cost consequences. I advise directors and bankrupts or creditors extensively in saving assets and defending insolvency related actions.
I advise insolvency practitioners, on corporate and personal insolvency disputes and can bring actions to recover assets under the Insolvency Act. I also have experience in advising creditors in situations where they have suffered a bad debt or have clients who are struggling to pays debts. Often creditors consider that they have lost their money when insolvency of one of their clients occurs but I can advise creditors on the best way forward which could result in a recovery.
I am commercially minded and will always strive to obtain the best result for my client ensuring transparency at all times on costs and attempting to achieve settlements where possible.
