I make sure that every transaction proceeds with my clients’ best interests uppermost in my mind. I appreciate that the highest levels of communication, accuracy and efficiency are required in order to deliver optimum results for my clients.

Whilst making sure that my clients have total confidence in the quality of my technical legal advice.  I am very aware that the Conveyancing process has the potential to be an extremely unsettling time for clients and, therefore, ensure that my clients are guided throughout the transaction with reassurance and information that is readily available and can be easily understood. I believe that to provide a truly professional Conveyancing experience a solicitor must never lose focus of seeing the transaction from the client’s perspective.

I have been involved in a large number of complicated Conveyancing transactions, some of which have appeared to verge on falling through simply due to a resolvable technical point which has had the effect of creating anxiety throughout the chain of transactions.

I am proud that I have often been instrumental in finding practical solutions to legal issues and maintaining clear channels of communication in order that the client’s goals can be successfully met.

Shared Ownership

As well as dealing with the full range of standard residential conveyancing transactions I am also Head of the McMillan Williams Shared Ownership Department.

Shared ownership legal work is specialised.  In my experience many firms are either: (a) not willing to taking on the work; or (b) not capable of carrying out the work to a high standard.

The work I carry out includes shared ownership New Build and Resale purchases; Resale sales; staircasing, reverse staircasing; and remortgages. I am also experienced in dealing with other (but less commonplace) government-backed affordable home ownership schemes in existence such as Shared Equity Schemes and the Discount Market Scheme together with Right to Buy and Right to Acquire.
